Western Dyung is a state of the Ards that emerged after the division of Dyung. Its lands are covered by vast coniferous forests and swamps. Among them stands Peris, the capital and principal city of the country.
Aruas and Ariviy rule Western Dyung together. The country is one of Vorto’s principal suppliers of weapons, with numerous workshops and forges operating in Peris. The Ards belong to the Black Bear Brotherhood, making Western Dyung one of its main military centers.
History
Aruas and Ariviy founded Western Dyung after Namibius brought them under his power. The brothers built Peris, gathered the Ards around them, and began preparing the new country for war. Western Dyung became one of the founders of the Black Bear Brotherhood.
Weapons were forged in Peris, and an army was assembled for the coming campaign. The Ards acted alongside the Grovns and other supporters of Namibius. When the preparations were complete, Aruas and Ariviy led the forces of Western Dyung against the states of Vorto.
After their defeat in the Liberation War, Aruas and Ariviy withdrew Western Dyung into the shadows and began waiting for the right moment to rise again.
Authority and Structure
Aruas and Ariviy rule Western Dyung together. Aruas is older and commands greater authority, so his word carries more weight. Nevertheless, the brothers govern the country jointly.
The tower at the center of Peris serves as their residence and the principal seat of power. Here the brothers conduct the affairs of the country.
The army of Western Dyung was renowned for its Furies and warlocks. The Furies are elite female warriors who rely on speed and light weapons in battle. The warlocks wield dark magic and create Izloms. They distort living nature and turn it into a temporary weapon, so an Izlom’s form depends on the place where it was created.
