Krestia

A harsh monarchy with strong crown authority and constant court intrigue.

Quick Reference

Krestia grew around Kervast. It was once an ancient human fortress, and over time the city became the capital and the main center of power. Around it lie the lands of noble houses, smaller towns, estates, and villages.

The country is ruled by Queen Emeria Krast. She is assisted by the Krestian Council. The advisers prepare decisions, watch the state of the country, and defend the interests of their houses. But the final word always remains with the queen.

After Feren separated, Krestia lost the coast and part of its former influence. The court never accepted this. The alliance with the Black Bear Brotherhood became Krestia’s way to regain what had been lost.

History

Neighboring Kimor

Krestia existed even before Kimor became the country of the dead. To the north lay a separate human state with its own cities, fortresses, and rulers.

The ruler of Kimor wanted to gain immortality and performed a ritual. It ended in a curse that swallowed the country and turned it into a land of restless souls. After that, Krestia’s northern border became one of the most dangerous places in the country.

The Rise of Kervart

Kervart was an ancient human fortress even before Kimor fell. After the country of the dead appeared, the city was fortified. Neighboring holdings and noble houses began to gather around it.

The Unification of Krestia

House Krast held Kervart and gradually brought the surrounding lands under its rule. Thus scattered domains became a single kingdom, and Kervart became its capital.

Liberation War

During the Liberation War, Krestia sided with Namibius. In return for its support, he promised to give it the lands of Dyung. After the war, Feren left Krestia with Rodia’s backing. The kingdom lost the coast, part of its trade routes, and its influence in the south.

Alliance with the Brotherhood

The court never accepted the loss of Feren. Emeria Krast supported the Black Bear Brotherhood, hoping to restore former influence and gain the lands of Eastern Dyung.

Authority and Structure

01

Queen

Krestia is ruled by Emeria Krast. She approves laws, appoints officials, commands the army, and defines the country’s foreign policy.

02

Krestian Council

The queen is served by a council of her closest people. They prepare decisions, handle affairs of state, and defend the interests of noble houses. The advisers may argue with Emeria, but the final word always remains with her.

03

Noble Houses

Most of Krestia’s lands belong to influential houses. They manage estates, collect dues, and keep their own people. At court, the houses constantly weave intrigues and try to weaken the crown. But the Krast dynasty has ruled for many generations, and so far no one has managed to shake its power.
