Overview
Eastern Dyung is a forested region in the east of Vorto, reaching all the way to the sea coast. Most of its territory is covered by ancient forests, threaded with roads and rivers.
The region's main city is Berkh, built among the forests by the river of the same name. Its graceful architecture is woven into the surrounding nature, and the heart of the city remains the temple of Dyungius inside a giant ancient oak.
Eastern Dyung is part of Rodia, yet keeps its own way of life. Here stands the Order of Dyungius, founded by Aldeviy to preserve peace across Vorto.
History
In the forests of Dyung the Alds lived in harmony with nature and followed the teaching of Dyungius. Aldeviy ruled in peace until tribes of Grovns began to approach the northern borders. He sent his younger brothers Aruas and Ariviy to negotiate with them, but they returned with nothing. Aldeviy chose not to start a confrontation and told them to leave the Grovns be.
Aruas and Ariviy did not accept his decision. Secretly gathering supporters, they set out north once more, intending to subdue the Grovns by force. The brothers meant to summon Dyungius, hoping for his help in the coming battle. But instead of him, Namibius stepped out of the opened portal. He subjugated Aruas, Ariviy and the Alds who had followed them, turning them into Ards.
In those forests Aruas and Ariviy founded Western Dyung, which became a stronghold of Namibius. The sacred forests of Dyung came to be called Eastern. While his brothers, together with Namibius, seized the countries of Vorto, Aldeviy waited for a sign from Dyungius. Having received it, he travelled to Mansenwill and helped Rafael found Rodia and begin the struggle to free the continent.
After the victory, Aldeviy asked to include Eastern Dyung within Rodia. Later Berkh became home to the Order of Dyungius, founded to preserve peace across the continent. After Rafael's disappearance, the Order helped Rodia choose a temporary ruler, while Aldeviy set out to find a way to bring Rafael back to Vorto. Since then Eastern Dyung remains one of the places from which the Order watches over the balance of nature and strengthens the bond between the peoples of Vorto.
